How to Play Sting the Bee
Game Objective
Score points by hitting the bee targets with bean bags! Land a perfect shot on the center bee to see a special surprise animation.
Setup
- Stand behind the throwing line (typically 5-8 feet from the game board)
- Collect your 3 bean bags
- Get ready to take aim!
Basic Rules
- Each player gets 3 throws per turn
- Throw bean bags underhand at the bee targets
- Hitting any bee scores points
- Center bee hit triggers a special “splat” animation
- No stepping over the throwing line while tossing
Scoring
- Outside Bees: 1 point each
- Middle Bees: 2 points each
- Center Bee: 5 points + special animation
Tips for Success
- Keep your throwing arm straight and steady
- Aim slightly above your target
- Try a gentle, arcing throw for better accuracy
- Practice your timing with all three throws
Safety Guidelines
- Wait for previous player to finish before collecting bean bags
- Only throw bean bags at the game board
- Keep the playing area clear of other players
- Adult supervision recommended for young children

Rules
Rules for Sting the Bee
General Rules
- Players must remain behind the designated throwing line at all times
- All throws must be made underhand
- Players get exactly 3 throws per turn
- Players must wait for their turn – only one player throws at a time
- Bean bags must be thrown one at a time
Gameplay Rules
- Players throw in the order determined by the party host/supervisor
- All players must complete their 3 throws in sequence
- Bean bags that bounce off the ground before hitting the board do not count
- Bean bags that fall off the board after landing do count for points
- If a bean bag gets stuck on the board, points are awarded based on where it landed
Scoring Rules
- Outside Bee Targets = 1 point
- Middle Ring Bee Targets = 2 points
- Center Bee = 5 points
- Maximum possible score per turn = 15 points
- Hitting the exact same bee multiple times is allowed and counts each time
Competition Rules
- In tournament play, each player gets one turn (3 throws)
- The player with the highest point total wins
- In case of a tie, players engage in a “sudden death” round with one throw each
- Sudden death continues until one player scores higher than the other
Conduct Rules
- No interference with other players during their throws
- No touching or adjusting the game board
- No throwing objects other than the provided bean bags
- Players must retrieve their own bean bags after their turn
- Players should alert the supervisor if equipment needs adjustment
Safety Rules
- Only throw when the area is clear of other people
- Never throw bean bags at people or objects other than the game board
- Walk (don’t run) when retrieving bean bags
- Report any damaged equipment to supervisor immediately
- Adult supervision required for children under 8
